An effective description of your event app will make it easy for attendees to understand exactly what it does, and more importantly, why they should download it.
When writing your app's description you should include logistical information about your event like the dates it runs, where it's taking place, and any notable speakers or activities. You may already have some copy on your event website or other promotional materials, and those are solid resources to lean on to continue your messaging about your event + app in the App Store and Google Play Store.
