An effective description of your event app will make it easy for attendees to understand exactly what it does, and more importantly, why they should download it.
When writing your app's description you should include logistical information about your event like the dates it runs, where it's taking place, and any notable speakers or activities. You may already have some copy on your event website or other promotional materials, and those are solid resources to lean on to continue your messaging about your event + app in the App Store and Google Play Store.
After you've explained the basics, you should write a little about the features the app offers and what the attendees can expect to see once they've downloaded it.
Here's a superb example of an effective and engaging app description from one of our clients:
"Affiliate Summit East 2019, the premier affiliate marketing conference, is taking place August 18-20, 2018 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
This three-day conference includes an exhibit hall with affiliate merchants, vendors, and networks, as well as multiple tracks of educational sessions covering the latest trends and information from affiliate marketing experts.
Official mobile app of Summit has the following functionality:
Social event feed
Ability to chat with other event attendees right within the app
Detailed info about event
Schedule with ability to create personal notifications
Map with routing functionality"
If you plan to broadcast sessions online, your branded mobile app with Attendify will allow attendees to watch them from the comfort of their smartphone screen, so make sure to mention that as well.
